Vitamins & fruit: best friends
To stay healthy it is advised to eat at least 2 to 3 pieces of fruit every day. They give you a lot of energy and fibres. Research has shown that the guava is the most nutritious fruit. But other fruits contain lots of vitamins as well. By combining and changing different sorts regularly you get a healthy and varied snack. An apple contains Vitamins A, C and E. Apples will help cell reproduction, bone growth, help to fight cancer and heal broken skin tissue. Bananas provide you with Vitamin A, B6, C and E. B6 helps to form red blood cells. Vitamin C is an antiviral agent and helps to fight against cancer. Grapes hold Vitamin A, B6 and C. Kiwi holds those as well but also gives you B2. This vitamin is important for the growth of the body. Fresh oranges or orange juice contain A, B1 and C vitamins. B1 is essential for the functioning of heart, muscles and nervous system. Peaches contain vitamin A and C. A deficiency of vitamin A can cause visual impairment. Strawberries hold the same vitamins as peaches. If you’re more into exotic fruits, you can eat limes which will provide you with vitamin A and C as well. Kumquat or lychee are two other options. Kumquat holds Vitamin A, C, B1 and B2. Lychee mainly contains C vitamins. Mango is a very good source for vitamin A as is persimmon.
