Zinc is one of those minerals that we have all heard of but have no idea what it does, but we do know that the white spots on the fingernails indicate zinc deficiency. When we sweat, we lose valuable zinc and any zinc in food is usually lost during processing. It is also important to those with infertility problems and those who have to bring down their cholesterol levels. It is found in good vitamin and chelated mineral supplements but a supplement of 22mg zinc should also be taken if any of the above applies (or you want to prevent trouble later on as in the prostate).
