Why test the man?
A male fertility problem contributes to at least 40% of all infertility problems that couples face. Sadly, many men resist being tested and in some cases this means that the woman can go through years of unnecessary treatment. This also means that the couple can go through a lot of unecessary emotional turmoil.Male fertility screening is done by collecting a fresh sample of semen and taking it to a laboratory for evaluation. The lab will look for the numbers of sperm and the quality of the sperm. The general rule is that the lower the sperm count and the poorer the sperm quality, the longer it will take to conceive and the more difficult it may be for natural conception to occur.
The new home screening test that we have really is a good start and has all the advantages of being discreet and private (no-one else needs to know what you are doing!). For couples trying to conceive it makes sense to use one!
