Cardiovascular diseases: something to avoid
Cardiovascular diseases are usually caused by the
silting up of the arteries.
Bad cholesterol also known as LDL-cholesterol attaches itself to the inside of the blood vessel walls. Underneath this a yellowy goo of fats and blood remainders is developing. This condition is also known as
atherosclerosis. Cardiovascular diseases form a group. These conditions all have certain things in common. A lot of them are actually caused by
atherosclerosis. They can occur at a young age as well as at old age. If someone has had a cardiovascular disease already he/she is more likely to get another condition from this group. Therefore it’s important to treat the factors that can increase the risk as well as possible. Don’t smoke, eat healthy, get sufficient exercise and avoid too much stress.
Categories
Although
cardiovascular diseases make one group, this group can be subdivided into 4 smaller groups.
Angina pectoris & coronaries
Angina pectoris is a pain in the chest as a result from exertion, cold or emotions. It passes when you rest and/or follow a treatment. This pain is caused by a deficiency of oxygen in the myocardium. To make it better all risk factors should be treated with medicines and healthy habits should be adapted.
Constriction can be remedied with a bypass surgery or a percutaneous angioplasty. A
coronary is caused by a total closing off of the artery that has to get the blood to the heart. Alerting the paramedics as soon as possible is the best thing you can do when there’s a chest pain that extends to the left arm, neck and jaw.
Claudicatio intermittens
Claudicatio intermittens is a condition characterized by constriction of one or more
arteries in either one leg or both
legs. After walking a little while these patients suffer pain in their legs and have to rest for a while before continuing. Walking as much as possible is the best thing to do.
Aorta aneurism, kidney artery stenos & is chemical colitis
Aorta aneurism,
kidney artery stenos and
is chemical colitis are conditions affecting the large belly artery, the kidney artery and the large intestine. Each are caused by a
constriction of one or more
arteries.
CRP
The
inflammation protein CRP also causes a higher risk at
coronaries. Generally it’s a useful substance that’s important for our body’s immune system. If we get an infection CRP makes sure to clear our body from the damaging substances. There are certain people whose CRP level is always too high. This then can increase their chance at a coronary.
