Get a move on

Keeping active is good for you. It's good for your heart, improves your fitness, makes you feel happy, and if you choose the right activity, can even be fun. You don't have to join a gym, or pound the pavements, although you can if you like. Simply choose activities that help to increase your heart rate and make you feel 'warm' and slightly out of breath but still able to hold a conversation. Brisk walking, dancing energetically, climbing the stairs, gardening or housework can all be incorporated into your daily routine.

diabetes, reduces blood pressure and helps with weight control. People who are active are less likely to suffer from heart disease and are likely to recover more quickly if they do.
